Workshop Overview

The purpose of this workshop is to define wonder as an experience and to develop an awareness of how wonder can be fostered and developed.

After a brief exploration of the literature to guide us into thinking about wonder, we will explore how fostering your own sense of wonder builds resilience in clinical practice. The purpose of this discussion is to help us think about all the ways in which wonder, supported by resilience, helps us harness our unique personal challenges into a thriving clinical practice.

By connecting with our "good enough," resilient selves, we model this process for our patients. This enables what often feel like our weakness to be experienced as strengths that allow our own growth, and the growth of our patients.

This workshop will be recorded and available for 30 days following the event.

YOU WILL BE ABLE TO

  1. Define wonder as it is represented in clinical psychodynamic and systemic literature

  2. Describe what wonder might look like for them personally and in a clinical context.

  3. Identify three ways to generate a sense of personal wonder

  4. Use those identified ways to generate wonder to deepen their self-understanding

  5. Create three goals that will aid in creating a resilient sense of self even in the face of discouragement.
